Snake skin - 2006/10/21 21:44 Hello,

I recently aquired a San Shin. The thing is, the skin is completely ruptured on both sides (I didn't do it!). I'd like to get it in good working order and looking like a real San Shin. That means getting snake skin. Not the most common commercial item I think

Does anybody know of any online music shops that has that kind of skin so I don't have to go on the highway lookin' for roadkill?

Thanks!

Kyle

Re:Snake skin - 2006/10/25 09:09 Hey Kyle,
Here are a couple of URLs for Sanshin, shamisen, samisen stores on Okinawa. Sorry they aren't in English. Use a translation tool.

http://www.nabbie.com/
http://www.chindami.com/
You might want to not be so pure about using snake skin and just improvise with whatever. After the war when people were poor, they used tin cans for the sanshin body.
Good luck
