Lets rock on BC street! LET'S POST! - 2008/03/27 18:26 Hey you forum "views" start posting! aye?

Hey now, does anyone know the names of some of the bands that played in Okinawa circa 1967-1968.

I remember hearing a band in Koza, either Gate2 st or BC st. An all Japanese band, they brought the house down with a steller Doors "This is the end". The drummer knocked his drum set over, jumped onto a bandmates shoulders and they all snaked thru the bar.
A "The Who" type performance. one wild night fer sure. Hearing them cover The Doors in broken english was alien to me but grate fun.
Also saw a few great one's at the 2nd Log commands EM Club (Machinato) Favorite request? (one guess)...."We got to get out of this place" talk about a sing along....

Too bad the Grateful Dead didn't do a USO tour there.
The PX would have run out of those matchboxes quickly-haha
(Gotta tell you, those laundry slips were harsh "cough-hack!")

I was stationed in the Army at the 2nd Log Command (Machinato service area) 585th MaintCo, a few miles north of Naha on the west coast, from 3/67 to 10/67. To include 3 TDY trips with USARPAC Calibration Teams.
