 folktale- dragon and centipede - 2007/04/26 01:05 Hi. I've been trying to track an Oki folktale- reguarding the centipede flag that is hung on the mast of the Ryukyu tribute ships. The tale is about a dragon that gets a centipede stuck in it's ear and eventually gets it out... consequently Ryukyu sailors fly the flag to ward off the dragon. Has anyone else heard this tale or know it's origin?
