2008 Internship & Study Abroad Program in Okinawa

 

Description: The ONLY program that combines language instruction, internship, & sightseeing all in one!!!

Normally this is a four week program BUT we can also tailor this program to individuals and groups (inquire for group rates) - from 2 weeks to 3 months. You can start studying, interning and sightseeing with us right away as our programs start every month. Please be aware that there are no Japanese classes and some internships will have the day off during Japanese holidays.

Highlights: 1. Cost: MUCH cheaper than similar programs on the mainland of Japan! Our one month program costs between $2,500 to $3,000 (depending on which program you pick). The below information is for our one month program.

2. Includes:
* Orientation & orientation packet
* Japanese Language placement exam
* 72 hours of classroom language instruction
* Textbooks (Minna no Nihongo Volume I and II)
* A private room at a furnished apartment for 4 weeks
* Meals: Lunch is provided Monday to Friday. There is a fully functional kitchen where you can make breakfast & dinner.
* 4 cultural activities with local Okinawans
* 2 field trips on Saturdays (Southern, Central, or Northern
Okinawa
)
* Ground transportation (airport pick-up/drop-off, cultural activities, and field trips)
* The ONLY program that gives you a mobile phone!!!
** For an extra price you can also stay at an Okinawan home for a few days

(4) Instead of an internship, you can study Karate!!!

* Time of internship might vary - it depends on what kind of internship but all full-time internships are for 32 hours a week.
* 4 cultural activities with local Okinawans
* 2 field trips on Saturdays (Southern, Central, or Northern Okinawa)

Notes: ** These cultural activities or cultural exchanges may include: a BBQ, bowling, flower arrangement, golf, karaoke, karate, kimono, Okinawa Dialect/Dance/Music, playing sports/water sports, private parties, tea ceremony, weekend night markets, etc.

**Internship availabilities:
(1) Hotels (Tokyo Dai-Ichi, Laguna Garden, Beachfront Tower, Kariyushi)
(2) Duty Free Galleria-Okinawa
(3) Education I (Teaching Assistant at private English schools)
(4) Education II (Teaching Assistant at Public Schools)
(5) Food Service (Restaurant/Bar)
(6) Banks (Bank of Japan, Kaiho Bank, Bank of the Ryukyus, & Okinawa Bank)

5. Important notes:
* You need a basic knowledge of Japanese to take part in our program.
* You can join our program at the beginning of every month but you join the class where they are - the class does not start from the beginning every month.
* There is a separate 10,000 yen deposit for a cleaning fee and your mobile phone. You get your 10,000 yen back at the
end of the program if your room is clean and the phone is not broken.
