Recently, a battery of Patriot Missiles (Pac-3) were transferred to Kadena Air Base, the largest U.S. Air Force base in the Asian region and the F-15 training flights were transferred to mainland Japan. Special funds were even available to local residents in the local Kadena town, Chatan town and Okinawa city areas to pay for sound proofing windows for residences. The Ministry of Defense reported that in there calculations of burden born by communities, that although the Patriot Missile battery added 2 points to their burden, the decrease of F-15 training activity decreased the overall burden by 7,5 points, making the three municipalities ineligible.
