Additional Comments: Nobuo, Kin-san "taught me the ropes" on Okinawa. In fact he taught me how to drive, and helped me get my first license. He was like an elderly brother. He had an excellent command of the English language, and a good working relationship with Mr. Chuck Steele, at the Stillwell Field House, Camp Sukiran (Zukeran). He was very visible in the intramural sports, people-to-people programs, and labor relations. He was a tremendous asset in coordinating the intramural sports programs featuring the Army Rangers, Kadena Falcons, Naha Eagles, 3d Marine Streaks, 9th Marine Strikers and 12th Marine Royals. Nobuo, Kin-san was "The Man". . . smile. . . I just hope he and his family are doing well. Convey to him my warmest regards. Domo arigato gozaimas’; sayonara!

I used to write my mother’s family but after Okinawa was taken into Japan, the letters came back no such number, address unknown. My father died also so I cannot ask him about things to find my family. When I was a child we could not afford to go to Okinawa. I married and have been iwth my husband in the Navy but we could not get stationed in Okinawa. I would give people who were going that way my relatives names and address and they would say they could check when they went to Okinawa but no one ever did. I tried before on this site but my info got lost. If there is anyone that can give me suggestions to help me find my relatives please let me know. Additional comments: Shigezo (while a college student at Emporia, Kansas) came a great distance to be in my wedding in 1977. My parents (now 81 and 82 years old) grew very fond of him and ask of him often. I think Shigezo returned after college to Okinawa and was the first sociologist there.
